The Musqueam Indian Band is actively seeking a Prescribing Health Nurse to join their team. The Musqueam people, with over 1,300 members, reside on the Musqueam Indian Reserve, embodying a rich cultural heritage deeply connected to their ancestral lands and the Fraser River. Despite historical challenges, including the impact of residential schools and colonial laws, they remain resilient, utilizing their lands and waters for sustenance and cultural practices. The Prescribing Health Nurse role responds to BC's opioid crisis, providing essential nursing services within the Musqueam community, focusing on physical and mental health maintenance. Responsibilities include supporting community members with substance use disorders, prescribing opioid agonist treatments, and offering acute primary care services at the Musqueam Primary Care Clinic. This full-time, one-year contract position, part of the Primary Care Clinic, reports to the Primary Care Manager.
